We are pleased to offer a college scholarship for an individual who is on the Autism Spectrum – going to college. The application deadline is August 1, 2018. Applicants will receive a reply within 30 days of the application deadline as to the status of their request. Scholarship payment will be issued directly to the institution.

For Individuals on the Autism Spectrum

This scholarship is named for Jacob Trotter, a Madison area teenager on the spectrum who had a focused interest in military history – specifically, the Civil War, and World War 1.  Jacob left remarkable imprints on his family, friends and community – and he continues to do so through this scholarship in his honor.


Criteria

The applicant must have a medical or educational diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder and must be admitted to an accredited, post-secondary educational or vocational program of study (college, trade program, etc.).

The applicant must reside in our service area (counties: Columbia, Crawford, Dane, Grant, Green, Iowa, Lafayette, Richland, Rock and Sauk).

The applicant must be a current member of the Autism Society of South Central Wisconsin. The cost for an annual membership is $15. See more information about Membership.

Print and complete the Scholarship Application Form

Send the application form (cover sheet), transcript (most recent high school or college), copy of enrollment confirmation, two letters of recommendation, and an essay …
