
Supporting students with Autism is a full-day training program designed to deepen participants’ understanding of Autism and its impact on the school experience. Attendees will gain practical strategies and tools to build stronger relationships with students and create more supportive, inclusive classrooms.
Ideal for both teachers and educational assistants, this interactive training features proven methods, real-world examples, and opportunities for collaboration with peers. Participants will leave with actionable approaches they can apply immediately in their work.
This program is eligible for four hours of continuing education through the WI Registry.

Topics Included:
- Autism 101 and Neurodiversity
- Gain a deeper understanding of Autism and neurodiversity, and how they shape an individual’s experiences and daily life.
- Supports and Strategies
- Learn practical supports and strategies to address diverse learning abilities, sensory needs, and behavioral accommodations in the classroom.
- Communication and AAC
- Explore the diverse communication styles of Autistic individuals and learn effective ways to support students who use AAC.
- Behavior and De-Escalation
- Gain insight into the meaning behind behaviors, learn to teach appropriate replacement behaviors, and develop effective de-escalation techniques.
- Building Connections
- Foster strong, collaborative relationships among students, staff, and families to support student success.
