Through our Sensory Sensitive Sundays program we’re able to offer families a quieter dining and entertainment environment, dimmed lighting and a sensory-friendly arcade experience. Our sensory-friendly events also include a trained and caring staff to ensure each guest has a safe, fun-filled visit.
Participating locations will open two hours early on the first Sunday of the month to offer a sensory-friendly experience for families.

Galaxie Skate Center's sensory friendly skate is designed for kids and adults with special needs. There will be NO Flashy lights, music will be at a low volume. Autistic friendly! Galaxie Skate Center is Richland Center's Family Fun Place! Roller Skating is a fun, healthy and entertaining activity that is enjoyed by all ages. Our rink has been in business for nearly 50 years here in Richland Center, Wisconsin and features a beautifully maintained Hardwood Maple Skating floor, one of the best skating floors in Wisconsin! We also feature a State of the art sound system, with full rich sound everywhere on the skate floor provides the best sounding tunes anywhere! Our concessions counter is loaded with great food, including fresh "made to order" Pizza's, Burgers, All Beef Hot Dogs, French fries, Funnel Fingers, Pretzel Bites, Fried Cheddar Curds and so much more!
Heartland Farm Sanctuary is a non-profit organization based in Madison, Wisconsin. Our mission is to inspire compassion for all beings by offering a safe, welcoming space where people and farm animals come together to experience growth, healing and connection.
Heartland Farm Sanctuary also offers Experiential Therapy. Experiential therapy isn’t “typical” therapy. Instead, it’s the ability to approach the needs of the participant in a way that allows them to express themselves through exploration, authenticity, compassion, creativity and the development of experiences where a real sense of belonging can occur.
At Heartland, therapy participants each work with a designated therapist– a certified or licensed professional– during their therapy sessions. All activities are done with the guidance of their therapist, and with the intent of helping participants reach their therapeutic goals.
These goals may include increasing coping skills, learning to better regulate and express emotions, practicing self-advocacy, building social and community involvement skills, and setting boundaries.
Experiential Therapy at Heartland is a good fit for children and young people who enjoy being outdoors and around animals, as well as those who may struggle to express themselves verbally. Our sanctuary’s unique environment and therapeutic experience often allow participants to open up and heal in ways that they’ve struggled with elsewhere.
Please note: Public and private visits must be scheduled ahead of time. Heartland is not open for drop-in visits.
