Snowshoeing at Aldo Leopold Nature Center
January 29 @ 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm
Come try out snowshoeing, meet other families and enjoy some hot chocolate and snacks by the fire!
On January 29th the Aldo Leopold Nature Center is hosting an Autism-only snowshoeing activity for the Autism Society of South Central WI. This event is free and open to children with Autism.
Snowshoes will be available for children but due to limited sizes and numbers of snowshoes available we cannot guarantee that there will be enough snowshoes for the whole family. If you have your own snowshoes bring them along! The Aldo Leopold staff will teach us snowshoeing basics and then we will have time to practice snowshoeing around the property. When we are done snowshoeing hot chocolate and snacks will be available to enjoy by the fire.
The Aldo Leopold Nature Center requires masks for all individuals ages 2 and up both indoors and outdoors. We understand that some individuals on the autism spectrum or individuals with sensory processing difficulties may not be able to wear a mask, and that is ok. However, we do ask that all other participants (children and adults) wear masks indoors and outdoors. Our mask policy, combined with doing programming primarily outdoors, has been working very well to keep all of our participants and staff safe. Registration is limited to 24 children.
Registration deadline Thursday, January 27, 2022.
