Tour of Milton House and Underground Railroad
July 13 @ 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM
A joint AUsome Social Group and AUsome Social Group – Janesville Activity: The AUsome Social Groups are for autistic people age 12 and up and their friends and family
If you are into history, especially the time around the Civil War, this will be an interesting activity. You will journey back into history with a guided tour through the Milton House built in 1844. The highlight of the tour is walking through the footsteps of runaway slaves through the underground RR. We will also learn many details about the general history of the area around southern Wisconsin. Our tour will last about an hour. You can learn more about the Milton House at their website https://miltonhouse.org/ including other special events held there.
Afterwards, we will go up the street to Cone Zone (444 West High S, Milton), a seasonal soft serve frozen dessert shop, which has a huge selection of cones, shakes, dirt cones, Dole Whip, cheesecake, pie and even subs.
Cost: Milton House is free due to a generous grant from The American Family Steve Stricker Fund. Bring a little $ to buy a treat @ Cone Zone.
The tour is indoors so you don’t need to worry about the weather. Wear comfortable walking shoes. There is plenty of free parking. No registration needed for this activity.
