Safety and the Internet
November 10, 2020 @ 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Internet safety, awareness, and fluency are more important now, than ever, in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis; wherein people are experiencing isolation and their windows to the social world are through computers, screens, and the internet. Learn how screens and the virtual world impact individuals on the spectrum in both common and unique ways, while exploring communication and safety strategies with Madeline Barger, MS, LMFT, BCBA, AASECT-CST.
Madeline Barger emphasizes a non-judgmental joining of the internet spaces and evidence-based strategies for managing both open communication, mutual respect, and safety in family relationships during screen-use. Barger has over 10 years’ experience with individuals with autism and their families. Barger is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Certified Sex Therapist, and has a certificate in internet psychology.
Please RSVP below by November 9th; the zoom link will be sent to you the morning of November 10th.
