Autism and other sensory disorders can make a trip to the movies a challenging experience for some.

In 2007, AMC Theatres (AMC) and the Autism Society teamed up to offer the “Sensory Friendly Films” program as a special opportunity for individuals living with autism and others to enjoy their favorite films in a safe and accepting environment on a monthly basis. To read more on the History of Sensory Friendly Films go to the Autism Sensory Friendly Films page on National Autism Society website.

To help these individuals enjoy the latest releases, two area movie theaters are lowering the volume, raising the lights and opening their doors to autism/sensory-friendly movies!
